ADVANCE consortium has developed the ADVANCE Toolbox which can be used by the scientific community to streamline the monitoring of the health benefits and risks of vaccines in the post licensure phase. It comprises different online open source applications that allow to transform outcome definitions into diagnosis codes, to analyse and select vaccine codes in a given vaccine coding system, assess potential impact of possible disease- and exposure misclassification, derive prevalence estimates and validity indices and visualise near real-time monitoring of the post-marketing benefits and risks of vaccines. Moreover, researchers can use ADVANCE web catalogue to conduct an assessment of the ability of databases to contribute to future vaccine benefit-risk studies.
